My school is a Title 1 school. Many of my students are economically disadvantaged and do not have access to reading materials at home. They are so sweet and eager to learn they are just behind in their reading levels. I have some who are reading at a kindergarten level. To be successful they have to be able to read and keep up with their classmates. They get discouraged when they get behind because of they are not able to read like they should.
