Flexible seating allows students to have some autonomy over their academic day. Many students need to choose where they want to learn, create, analyze, and collaborate in a classroom setting in order to maximize their learning. With the Flex-Space Collaborative Floor Work Space Bundle, my students will be able to determine when they need to use an alternative seating arrangement that better suits their learning style. When students are given the the choice to determine where they learn the best; we see an increase in engagement and academic productivity. We see this with not only the students who need an alternative seating style, but this also benefits the students who prefer traditional desk and chair seating. With less congestion in the desk and chair arrangement, students are able to focus more. Flexible seating options will support individual student choices that benefit and encourage all learners.
