My students are voracious readers. They love learning and sharing the exciting things they have read about with me, their peers and their families. They seek new knowledge and challenge themselves with texts that make them think. My school is rural with a population of working class to middle class. Many of my students lack knowledge of things outside our small community. They want to learn and they love learning, and books are a way for them to discover and explore new topics and events that they may not have found otherwise. My students are proud of their reading. They have never complained about the books I have in my library and I am always fascinated by the things that interest them. I would like to refresh and restock my classroom library to broaden their horizons and provide them with engaging texts to continue their love of learning.
