Each week every student from Kindergarten through 8th grade spends at least one period in my art classroom, learning an exciting range of art techniques. Many of these students use these skills as they go on to art or technical high schools, preparing them for skilled careers. NBFA is a high achieving public charter school annually serving 470 mostly low-income students of color in grades Pre-K-8. We are a public school of choice offering a longer school day, an extended school year and an after school program. On average, all NBFA students receive 270 more instructional hours per academic year than students in traditional public schools.
