Our district does not provide the educational funding to ensure that school counselors have materials we need for our school-wide counseling program, which in addition to school-wide initiatives also includes classroom lessons and individual & group counseling. This is especially challenging as I work with a population of students with varying and high needs. My students would benefit from having a welcoming and comfortable counseling room filled with therapeutic games and books. These items, including the Mindfulness Therapy Games, Finger Fidget Stress Reliever and I Know What to Do Cards for Taking Control of Your Feelings/Emotions, would increase the options I have to help my students work on coping skills, learn mindfulness, practice social skills, explore feelings, and so much more. Please consider supporting my students and our school's counseling program with a donation!
