As part of our daily sustained silent reading time, students will be allowed to read around the room. Having their own bin to hold their chosen books, will allow them to move about the classroom easily. Plus, their books will not get mixed up with other classmates, giving them ownership of their books. I want to instill a love of reading in my students, and having their own bin will give them a sense of ownership over their book choices. I have a huge classroom library for students to choose their books. Plus, they can check out books from the school library. By having their own book bin, they will also be able to start reading quickly!
