Our class has never all been together in one space. We have met online, during drive-by parades, and from a distance in an open outdoor space. We have learned over a computer, and through a screen since August. Our school system is getting ready to transition our K-3 students back into the classroom. With these one piece floor desks, students will be able to spread out in the classroom and observe social distancing procedures while being able to work collaboratively with their peers and teachers. It is important for students and teachers to work collaboratively in a way that is safe, comfortable, and conducive to learning. During a long period of isolation from school, many students have found it difficult to learn online, and miss seeing their friends. Being able to safely work together would help to build their confidence, build their relationships, and remind them of their love for learning in the classroom.
