This equipment will be used to engage my students in fine motor skill activities and provide much needed sensory awareness. The needs of my students are varied. I will be able to use the BOP It game and and Simon Air to help encourage and facilitate movement with my younger students. They are eager to learn and bring a great deal of excitement to our class. These activities will encourage movement, provide sensory stimulation, and enjoyment. Sensory toys are needed to provide the particular sensory input that many children with autism and other needs crave. The flashing LED gloves and tactile water beads will be used to help meet sensory needs. Studies show sensory toys can improve concentration and focus in children. The rainfall stick and Squiz will help keep their hands busy as they use fine motor skills and attend to the equipment. Since I am traveling, these items are easily transported. I will be able to pack these items easily and use them in multiple school settings. Students need many different tools in order to be successful. Playing and meeting the sensory needs of students can be challenging. The equipment requested will enable me to provide my students with multiple sensory opportunities and enjoyment in the physical education setting. These toys will not only help develop fine motor skills and concentration, but encourage my students to have fun and play while meeting their sensory needs.
