The students in my classroom include 4th-7th graders with varying language levels. The ESL student population has increased rapidly within our school district and several of my students are new to the country with very limited English language skills. We currently do not have an organized curriculum to offer our students, so I want to be able to instruct them using various activities and forms of technology. It is extremely important I differentiate within my classroom, so I have students work in smaller groups for more individualized instruction. I feel iPad minis would be an excellent tool to help them reach a successful language proficiency level! My main focus within my classroom is to have students practice their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills. The use of iPad minis would incorporate all of these areas into their instruction , while motivating them to practice English and become proficient in learning the English language.
