My kindergarten students come to class with various prior exposure to school. While some have attended formal or informal preschool or attended transitional kindergarten, others have never been to school before entering my classroom. Although the vast majority of our students are living below the poverty level and receive a free or reduced breakfast and lunch, they are excited about learning and have parents who are supportive of our program. Over the past ten years, our school has moved out of program improvement and is considered one of the district's success stories.

About my class
