Dramatic play is purposeful play! Dramatic play helps children explore different roles and situations as children play with items and tools adults use in everyday life. It also encourages social-emotional skills that prepare them for academic learning. Dramatic play encourages children to put themselves in someone else's shoes and such role-playing helps them to improve their ability to do this in real life. The garden dramatic play center will help the children in many ways academically. They will be able to utilize math for counting the flowers and the money. The children will learn expressive language and empathy as well. They will learn the importance of money and purchasing things. These skills will prepare the children for real-life experiences they will use as adults.
