The students in my class are low performing 1st and 2nd graders. My students are hard working, dedicated to their studies, and eager to learn how to read. Many students cannot pay for private tutoring if they require it. Some struggle to purchase their own school supplies, so that burden falls on the teacher. Many of the students come from single parent homes and the sole-provider is on public assistance.
