My classroom is a Kindergarten and First grade combination classroom in a Title I school. Many of the students in my class are English as a Second Language learners and the majority of my class receives free or reduced breakfast and lunch. The students in my class are bright, curious and eager to learn. We have only been in school for a few months and my class has had a wonderful start to the year by working hard to develop their skills and strategies. They love to read! It is difficult for my students to practice their reading at home as many of them do not have books at home to practice with. Also many of the parents in our area need to work multiple jobs to support their families so often the students do not have the educational help at home. Therefore it is important that I do my best to reach all of my students and help them to learn as much as possible each day that they are in my classroom.
