"Somewhere something incredible is waiting to be known."- Carl Sagan. Our students want to explore this incredible something with the support of rich non-fiction text that engage them to ask questions about the world and to explore new found discoveries. Our students are active learners who come to school eager to achieve new learning goals while becoming independent thinkers. I am fortunate to teach 435 students in grades K-5 in library class each week. Our students love to read and listen to stories independently, in groups or as a whole. As with most schools during this time, we are dealing with budget cuts and access to technology is limited. Our students are crossing their fingers for listening stations in the library with educational text and CD's with challenging vocabulary and informative illustrations.
