The 4th grade students are full of energy and creativity! They are attentive during lessons and show diligence during their work time. A wide variety of music helps to create the right work atmosphere on any given day. Students enter the classroom and spend a few minutes doodle drawing to get in the "art zone". The thirty second Jeopardy theme song lets them know that its time to transition by putting their drawings away and turning their attention to the days lesson. The 4th graders are currently building their observation drawing skills and they get better with every drawing. They have drawn their shoes, hole punches, tools, and a variety of interesting items from the thrift store. Our focus is not to draw "good" but to draw what we see. These preliminary exercises will surely help each student succeed on their self portrait assignment.
