Students enrolled in my Marine Science classes in grades 10-12 actively work to cultivate Florida Mangroves. We are currently growing over 1,000 trees. These students work in the hot Florida sun after school and on weekends to ensure that this project is a success. Last year they planted over 500 mangrove trees. They worked to remove exotic plants that had taken over the area and replaced them with Florida's native treasures, the mangroves.
