Our students are great! We are a small alternative school where students have chosen to come to complete their education. Many of the students have had significant life challenges and come from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our community is a rural area in the state of Washington, and unfortunately is undeserved when it comes to social services and family support programs. Our demographics include approximately 46% low income students. Our students care deeply about the community and their school and are committed to creating projects that will make a difference for teens. They have already led several initiatives to create a safer school community and prevent harassment, bullying, and violence. They are even collecting data on the effectiveness of their programs, as well as the number of community members they have reached.
