I teach math, social studies, and science to 44 3rd grade students in a high poverty area. Our school services about 700 students in PreK through 4th grade. My group this year works really well together and loves doing hands on activities. I attended a STEM trading at the end of last school year. I have a very limited science supply that consists of a rock collection, rulers, measuring cups, and balance scales. I have one large magnet and a microscope. In order to do class experiments, I have had to borrow materials from other teachers. By adding a classroom laptop, digital microscope, and a variety of science supplies, I can turn my classroom into a fun learning environment for my students. It will provide my students with as much hands-on as possible so that they will be engaged and enjoy learning.
