My students are amazing! My first graders want to be the best they can be. My students are hard workers that I enjoy immensely. We talk about their likes and home life, but when it is time for work they give 110%! They help each other and ask questions. It is an amazing environment. We work as a family supporting each other and building one another up. Our school is a Title I school. We have approximately 80% free and reduced lunch students. We are in a rural county in NC. Our state has received national media coverage and most know that our public education has had many deep cuts in the past 5 years. I am not getting the materials I need to help instruct my students. Teachers, like myself, have to pay for materials out of our pockets. We do this because we know what our kids need to succeed. I will do whatever possible to ensure my students get the education they deserve.
