Groups of 3 or 4 students gather around a dry erase board as they launch into a mathematical problem. The classroom finds several groups up around the perimeter of students tackling these problems. The classroom turns into a dynamic and energetic learning situation where ideas are exchanged, students can see the thinking happening around the room, and students are allowed to be themselves through choosing how they participate. Students will explore and challenge ideas, work through mistakes, test theories, and finally build new and expanded understanding around mathematical concepts. And through these experiences, their passion and curiosity around math will grow.

About my class
