We are a suburban, neighborhood middle school with over 800 students from diverse backgrounds. Our school has two Physical Education/ Health and Wellness teachers who share the gym with over 60 students participating at a time. Two of our class periods also include an additional 10-12 special needs and physically impaired students, adding an additional dynamic to the atmosphere. Assessing and Evaluating our students' skills and activities can be a real challenge at times. Our students have built a strong community and they are committed to making it healthy. Staying strong and healthy can be difficult when you come from a low-income area. Over 50% of our students receive free or reduced breakfast and lunch daily. As a staff we emphasize eating right and maintaining a strong and healthy body and mind. We want our students to be prepared for a world that uses technology in higher education and in the workplace by integrating it into everyday life and activities.
