The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will be used to teach them basic sewing and craft skills. The ornament sewing kit and cross-stitch kit will be used to teach our students basic sewing skills. The felt fabrics, needles, buttons, and threads will be used to create stuffed animals. We will also teach students how to sew a button onto material. Basic sewing skills can be implemented to the daily lives of our students. Over time, sewing is a life skill which can help one save money, and salvage sentimental pieces. Since it is also a craft skill, sewing promotes creativity and self-sufficiency, thus promoting self-confidence. With these projects, students will earn self-confidence by the end-result of a product that they created!
