My school is located in a lower socioeconomic area with 90% of students receiving free or reduced school meals. Unfortunately, many of our students go hungry as the food they receive at school is the only healthy meal these children have throughout the week. I love working with these students because they are so appreciative of the small things. Many of these children enter into school speaking little or no English. They want to come to school and learn. They are amazing children that have overcome many difficulties in their young lives.
