My students come from all walks of life. Some of them have full shelves of books and parents that read to them every night. Others only have access to books through school and only read in the classroom. Regardless of their situation, these kids come to my classroom with a positive attitude and a lot of energy. They laugh at their funny stories and ask deep questions about their non-fiction books. Our school provides many chances and opportunities for students to be rewarded for the books that they read. We participate in the Accelerated Reader program and students enjoy this greatly. I would love to provide students the means to use Accelerated Reader and many other web-based reading programs in our classroom. In this digital age, our classroom is falling behind because we lack student computers.
