I am a special education teacher. In other words, I spend my days investigating how each of my students learn and most of my nights planning to accommodate those learning styles for each student. I get the privilege of reaching the learning core of each of my students and watching them get excited about learning. I teach in a special day school for students who are having difficulty maintaining in a regular school environment. Unfortunately, that often means that my students do not get the opportunity to experience science like their non-disabled peers at other schools. My students are hands-on learners and receive the biggest benefit from lessons that involve an interactive element. When my students can touch, smell and see science, they learn science.
