I will be teaching a group of awesome third graders this coming year. After speaking with the second grade team in great detail, these third graders are ready to learn. They are excited about reading and learning new things. This group is also ready for technology integration. I will have students who MUST be supported, pushed,and some that this is their year to recognize their potential and possibilities. My school is an urban Title 1 school. We are very diverse and we are becoming a school that celebrates the history and cultural difference of the students we serve. Our resources are few and very dated. We have access to on line reading resources; however, the use of the tools are very restricted due to the lack of personal, portable reading devices. I have ready for my school and the stakeholders that call it home, to go from Good to Great!
