My robotics teams are very dedicated and hard-working students. My two teams consist of 4 or 5 students each. In total their are 9 students in my club, consisting of seven 10th graders and two 9th graders. They work and train together building great character traits such as teamwork, responsibility, and good sportsmanship. Many of my student are using the skills learned from these FTC Challenges to prepare themselves for their future dream careers of being professional engineers. FTC is designed for students in grades 7-12 to compete head to head, using their own sports model. Teams are responsible for designing, building, and programming their robots to compete in an alliance format against other teams. Teams, including coaches, mentors and volunteers, are required to develop strategy and build robots based on sound engineering principles. Awards are given for the competition as well as for community outreach, design, and other real-world accomplishment.
