My classroom is filled with kind, fun, loving second graders who truly care about each other as people and as learners. We track our goals and we talk about how we can encourage each other to reach each goal that we set. They understand that everyone learns in different ways and even if learning comes easily to them or if it is a struggle for them, they all have a goal to continue to grow as readers. We are a Title 1 school and 56% of our families receive Free and Reduced Lunch. Many of my students come from low income homes and have individualized needs.
