I will be starting a book club for students to read high interest young adult novels and discuss those novels with their peers. These books are ones students are going to enjoy reading and talking about. They will also complete projects to show others about the novels. Each student will get to read four different books, so they can have a wide variety of perspectives and stories. These novels are well-known to be engaging and thought-provoking for young adults. Since my students are a diverse population, they will appreciate reading stories about people just like themselves. The librarian is able to get one or two copies of books that students request, but she is unable to get classroom sets so that all students have access to the book. With unreliable internet, students are unable to read ebooks at home as well.
