When I imagined all materials and items I would need in my classroom, never did I expect to ever purchase extra security to prepare for a hostile situation. On the news, we continue to see violence in schools across the United States, day after day. I always tell my students, "my number one job is to make sure you return home, the same way your parents sent you to me." I feel the best thing to do for my students is to prepare and make sure we have every safety precaution in place, possible. We never know what tomorrow holds. This is why I believe my classroom could benefit from the Barracuda Intruder door lock system. Currently, my main classroom door has a glass window. It only locks from the outside. An intruder could easily knock out the glass and open our classroom door. The product I am requesting can be installed in a matter of seconds. It has been featured on many news media outlets. There has even been school districts to purchase this product for every door, for every one of their schools.
