Our school has a diverse population and is located in a Tier 1 county of the state of North Carolina. Our students are in a high poverty district and as a part of a new program, they receive breakfast and lunch at no cost. We have around 450 students. My school has a very welcoming environment that one can feel almost immediately upon entering the doors. We work well together and are like a big family working to ensure success of all students. The majority of my Kindergarten students have never attended a daycare or preschool. You can see the excitement in their faces when they arrive each morning. They are so eager to learn and enjoy coming to school.
