Tinker Bar is a STEM based endeavor to help students strengthen their soft skills -collaboration, creativity, grit, and motivation. By transforming a space in the library into a makerspace lab - called the Tinker Bar - learners will have an area where they can pull up a stool and create, build, and tinker with friends. By encouraging students to work together building marble runs, KEVA block structures, and Goobi creations we hope to build an even MORE invitational environment in our library and continue to cultivate a collaborative and supportive school climate. Research shows that middle school is a time of tremendous change and making social connections in a non-threatening environment can help students transition successfully.
