My students are starving for words and experiences in the form of books. I’m limited with the few copies of books the district has left from years ago. Teens voicing a desire to read and begging for books in the 21st century is rare but not extinct. I’ve created innovative book projects aligned to the Common Core State Standards that students will create to demonstrate their knowledge of the novels and to market the books to other students in the school. Reading is contagious and my students will spread the news. The novels are grade appropriate and educationally aligned to curriculum.
