This carpet will be used every day by my students. Students will gather on the carpet for mini lessons, read alouds, sharing their own writing, and classroom meetings. It will be a place for everyone to gather to learn academic content, as well as building connections and a sense of community between the students and myself. Whole group lessons on the carpet provide students the opportunity to get to know their peers and hear ideas they wouldn't otherwise during small group work (which is often broken up based on ability), or independent work. Thank you in advance for helping fund my project!
