My third grade classroom is located in an underserved area of Oakland and while my students deal with numerous challenges both inside and outside of school, they are remarkably resilient. Most students in our school enter reading below grade-level, and most are English language learners. I feel so lucky to be able to work with this amazing group of students and I am eager to fill my classroom with books and resources that reflect their interests, experiences, cultures, and communities.

About my class
