My students eyes light up when new materials are introduced at the beginning of a new theme or concept. Though my school is upgrading their technology resources, the past budget cuts have made it difficult to also purchase student classroom materials. With the new push of implementing the Common Core Standards, teachers are challenged with implementation of the S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) curriculum. This begins at the early childhood, kindergarten level of public instruction. With the donation of hands-on math manipulative objects, technology software for our Promethean Board and science kits. These materials will help my young learners to work independently as well as in groups to problem solves in math and science curriculum areas.
