These materials will give students a chance to see how what they are learning in school adapts to real life. They have the opportunity to see real photographs and will be able to work on their nonfiction text features. We can tie these magazines into our curriculum and they will give them the opportunity to work on main idea and details, compare and contrast, and cause and effect; among many other skills. Students can take these home to share with families. They can practice their reading skills and strategies they've been learning in class. Many students are Ell's and can get all this information in Spanish, when accessing the online page.
