I service forty second-graders and some of my students have not yet discovered books that capture their imaginations. Their imaginations will serve as a powerful tool that will help bring out their inquisitive and curious personalities. Most importantly, my students will be given the opportunity to be more knowledgeable and familiar with technology integration. My learners are digital natives who interpret and develop technology skills with much ease. They learn better through discovery than simply being told information. They are curious and are always in search for answers. As their reading teacher, I use guided reading and a balanced literacy program to help develop their academic interests. This will afford them the opportunity to delve more fully into the content area of different stories and build their background knowledge while pursuing areas of interest to them.
