As a Social Worker, one of my primary roles is to help support my students learning. One way is to teach and re-teach needed social skills to be successful; such as raising hands and not blurting out, accepting differences of others, and teaching students ways to regulate their bodies and feelings. I enjoy using story books to help teach and illustrate lessons for students, such as My Volcano Mouth. Another component of my job is to ensure I can provide tools to my students to help regulate their bodies and minds. Through the use of fidgets, putty, and kick bands students are able to get the tools they need to keep them in the learning environment.

About my class
