Many of my students are underrepresented minority students who have never experience science at a level that can spark an interest in them, and for many, this is the first time they have actually gotten their hands on science! As a scientist, I have always worked towards creating that spark in my students where they can be informed and get inspired about careers in science and engineering. Over 70% of our students have free or reduced lunch. Our school is located in a semi-rural area where oil fields and agriculture are the main source of income.

About my class
