I love my students!! As a second year teacher, I will take advantage of the small window of time that I have left to be "young and cool." My students are goofy, crazy, loud with excitement, at times annoying, but always amazing. The learning level ranges from 3rd grade readers to AP level students. I must put hours and hours of planning to make my lessons as engaging as possible for all learners. Real world connections, references to pop culture, and silly video clips usually keep them engaged, but the hands on portion of my class is insufficient. I typically do not have enough supplies to support all of my students, and very large lab groups are ineffective and difficult to manage. When I do hands on activities as a demo in front of the room, I can feel the engagement drifting away. My students constantly ask "Miss! When are we going to do labs again?!" Planning lab is costly and stressful on my part when the materials needed are just not available.
