Students read what they love. Graphic novels and favorite picture books fly off the shelves, week after week. As our student population grows, so does the demand for well loved books. Limited library budgets prevent the replacement of well used titles. Curriculum driven books push out graphic novels and comics. This project will return favorite characters like Pigeon, Piggie and Gerald to the library shelves and support the purchase of silly, engaging and stylistic graphic novels, as well as popular Spanish titles for the older reader. Through my project, I hope to expand my graphic novel, Spanish and easy reader collections in the library so that all students are greeted with favorite books week after week. ""Read In" the New Year with treasured books!
