My students are smart, interested, and in their final year of high school! 76% of them live in poverty. I work with Hispanic students and Native American students. We have the highest homeless rate in Oregon. Many of my students are in foster care. They are not classified as "advanced" or "honors" students, but they have their own gifts. They understand challenges and obstacles; some of them are already parents, others have an easier life and are looking forward to attending a two-year college.

About my class
