Our elementary school is located in a rural county with a countywide population of only 37,000. We are a Title I School, therefore everyone is receiving free breakfast and about 65% receive free/reduced lunch. Many of our students have never traveled beyond our county lines, and even fewer have traveled across state lines. The exposure to the larger world is very limited. Our students come from varied backgrounds, but they acknowledge the need to work hard and display teamwork on a regular basis. Our school has a strong sense of community that can really only be felt and not described despite our rural, low income status. Students are eager to learn and constantly inspire teachers to take them higher, farther and faster than the day before. They are excited to make, create, innovate and come back the next day to do it again!
