I teach second grade at a moderate income school in a very poor school district. We actually owe money to the state for an earlier bankruptcy. But it is a wonderful school at which I thoroughly enjoy teaching. About half the students speak a language other than English at home. I have students from Brazil, S.E. Asia, India, and Mexico. The parents are very active and take up some of the slack of our resource poor district.
