All of my students are America's children from extremely low income families. My school is a Title I school and the parents cannot afford to buy school supplies for the children. We are in great needs for the simplest of things such as paper, toner, pencils etc. Classroom materials are a luxury at our school. Teachers have to buy supplies out of their pittance salary to provide materials for their class. How unfair! Furthermore, my students do not have parental support with their schooling. Most of them only get the meal that we provide at school lunch. At my school the teachers are the parents, we raise the kids. Since the academic achievement are the responsibility of the teachers, unfortunately these days, purchasing students classroom materials too has become the responsibility of the teachers. As a math teacher I am begging for materials for my students. I want my students not to worry about not having materials to complete their assignments.
