My students make up a class that is the quintessential "salad bowl". They speak different languages. They have a wide variety of cultural backgrounds. Some of them have lived in multiple countries. Some of them don't have homes at all. Some of them have been attending daycare for years and went to preschool last year. Some of them are away from their families for the first time ever on the first day of school. My students' differences provide them with the incredible opportunity to learn diversity and empathy. I am honored to learn with them every day.
