I have 20 students. I have 12 male students and 8 female students. The school is located in a poor urban environment. Despite growing up in poverty, my students are happy and eager to learn. In addition, the men in this environment want to be positive role models for their children in education. This is exciting news for the field of education particularly urban education. Traditionally men in this environment have not been involved as much as females. After teaching for 14 years in this same environment. I'm seeing a great shift in the desire for males to be a part of their child's education.
