I teach in a high school that serves a diverse socio-economic group of teens. My students range from those in an alternative high school setting, to some with mild learning disabilities, to those who have more challenging disabilities. My alternative ed students are often referred to by others as "thugs" or "criminals in training", but they are a motivated group of students. Their goal is credit recovery, and each day they give me the opportunity to make them feel like school isn't such a bad place, after all. My special education students are a lively, opinionated group who refuse to let their disabilities hold them back.

About my class
