At home many of our students face adult challenges. They bring worries with them to school. They need to feel safe here and believe that we have their backs. We plan to do this by creating vinyl decal, with our cricut machine, to put on 20 bathroom stall doors in the intermediate grade restrooms. Each will contain an affirmation or words of wisdom. For example: You are capable of amazing things; Be your own kind of beautiful; Take pride in how far you have come and have faith in how far you can go; Nobody said it would be easy, so don't ever give up when it gets hard. These affirmations will remind our students that they are special and loved, and that we have high expectations for them.
